Company Profile
Born Again Classics

Three years ago we started rechroming bumpers for members of the Ford Galaxie Club because we had heard LOTS of complaints about shoddy chrome. Not just a few, but 38 in just one year. (We keep track.) Not all of them were about the same company even though a few were. We have finally grown to the point where we try to keep in stock a bumper or two for every year Galaxie and every model. They are guaranteed for life. They are done by a company that has been fixing bumpers for SEVENTY five years! Do you know how many bumpers that is? THIRTY SEVEN. Over 150 members in our club are now satisfied customers with more going out every week.
I literally fell into the position because a friend happened to be the sales manager for the company that we distribute for.
I have seen cheaper, but that is what it is, CHEAPER. You can see grind marks and frankly for the small difference in price, it just isn’t worth it! And to top it off, they only have a year warranty at the most!
We are trying to fill needs. For instance, the FE intake manifolds have a bypass tube that rots out in the front and we have now made available for the same price as a steel replacement a Stainless Steel replacement that will NEVER rot out.
And then there is the problem with the halogen headlamps overheating our headlight switches. Not with our Relay box. Problem solved. Or how about putting an alternator on a non alternator car? Our Transpo miniature voltage regulator takes care of simplification of that problem!
And now we have silicone heater hose in blue for you resto mod guys for less than the price you would pay locally IF you can find it! We have the wide clamps for it too.
And how about the dim tail lights on a 1964? Well, we are in the process of coming up with an LED conversion that will be so bright that you wouldn’t believe it! And it will last forever and look really cool too!
Our most recent project is the acquisition of Polyurethane bushings for the rear of a 1965-1974 Galaxie.
Sure, you can find the standard press in rubber bushings for about $60 for six. But no one is making an over the counter or in the catalog pair of bushings for the pan hard rod. That is unless you consider that one supplier is having them put in for $199.00 a pair!
That is what got us looking. We are going to have a COMPLETE set that you will press into your panhard rod, and into your existing shells, using the same center sleeve that comes with them and your bushings will then last FOREVER. Or at least close. I, for one, get disgusted while trying to finish a car and having to utilize something I consider either second rate or in some cases the old stuff is being used over. 35 year old parts are 35 year old parts. We expect the new eight piece bushing set to sell for under $90 retail. We will be doing the pan hard bushings first and see how that goes. By the way, you can change them in 1/2 hour! They will be black like the originals.
We were Born Again Fords at first, which of course is a play on words. We have also rechromed bumpers on a 57 Buick, 51 Buick, 56 Oldsmobile and a few other models so we decided to change our name a while back.
So stay tuned and watch our ads in the classified section. We don’t want to step on toes, we will do what we have to so that our members can have quality at reasonable prices.
