I bought the car in 1972 for $100.00. The car was in real good condition but the transmission was shot. I bought a used transmission for about $75.00 dollars and installed it. I drove it for about five years before I had to rebuild that transmission. This was my first automatic transmission overhaul, but I learned a lot from it. After that, I retired my number one car which is a '69 Mustang Mach I with ram air and a 428. I then freshened up the Mustang which was still pretty much cherry and took it to car shows usually winning first in my class. The '64 Galaxie became my number one car and I went everywhere with it. In '90 I decided to semi restore it and take it to car shows. It usually placed second or third. That's when I decided to give it a more complete restoration. It has been tore down ever since, but this summer I plan to have it on the road again. I'll show it as well as cruise with it. I named it George many years ago.
