NOTICE: Recently there has been a scam circulating the Internet where someone will contact a seller of an automobile, offer to purchase the automobile with a "certified" check for an amount somewhat higher than the actual sale with the stipulation that the seller go to the bank and wire the difference to the "buyer" ASAP. This scam has left a number of people with less money in their possession because the bank will eventually notify the seller that the "certified" check was in fact a fake and the seller would end up out the cash they sent to the scam artist. Volume 26 Issue 1 (January/February 2009 Issue)
Classic Car For Sale, Best Offer, 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Four Door. This car is from Texas and has never been driven in MN! The car has a current license and title. I have full insurance coverage. The battery is a new Ford Motorcraft at the correct size. I have rebuild all the parts to the engine including the starter, generator, water pump, rear end, all the brakes, new master cylinder, new temper sensor that is in the block, new master cylinder switch, a new voltage regulator. The motor has been completely rebuilt including polishing the crank, new rings after honing the cylinders, a new Ford cam, new values and lifters. I had hardened inserts put in the head so I would not have to add lead to the gas. The gas tank has been lined by RENU. The Carburetor Shop has rebuilt the carburetor. I have installed a new fuel pump, sending unit, and filter and blown out the fuel lines from the tank to the pump and from the filter to the carburetor. The MSD coil has the correct resistor mounted. The sparks plug, points, condenser and spark plugs wires are all new. I purchased a rebuilt disturber and installed a new cap. The starter switch is new, head light switch is new, and new plastic bents for the E-Brake pull knob on the instrument panel. All four wheel cylinders have been replaced with new ones and the two front and one rear flex lines are new. All four of the brake drums have been machined and the bearing and seals are new. All brakes have new brake shoes. The master cylinder is new. All four shocks are new. I painted every thing under the car to protect if from rusting. The engine compartment has been completely painted. The rear end has been cleaned and inspected for wear on the gears and bearing and every thing is in great shape. New axle seals and bearings. The drive shaft and U-joints have been replaced with a higher level design. The fly wheel and pressure plate have been machined. The clutch is new. The transmission has been rebuilt with new bearing in all locations and gaskets. The motor is a 6 cylinder (Mile Maker 6) and it is 223 cubic inch. The transmission is a 3 speed manual. Manual steering and it does not have AC which is one less problem to deal with. The top is white and the rest of the car is light blue (Blue Bird Egg Blue). The paint is original as is the interior. It is blue with some highlight. The trunk lock needs to replace and also the exhaust from the header to the rear mounted muffler. 1967 Galaxie 500 fastback This car is for someone looking to part it out or do an extensive restoration. Not running. But the motor (390) is strong. Could be as simple as carburetor issues. I drove it regularly 4 years ago. Good tires. Sits nice and level but the body is not in very good shape. Rust on back quarter panels. Body damage on passenger side door and fender. Top has no holes but will not last long. Dashboard is shot. No door skins. The upholstery is white and is 5 years old. Still in decent shape. Got full moons but those will pop off. The car is located in Santa Rosa, Ca. It would need to be towed or put on a trailer. It's registered non-op in California. It would be nice if someone could make good use of this old friend. Need to sell my 1959 Galaxie Sunliner Due to Debilitating illness I must part with beloved project I had just started. What is important is that this car goes to someone that is going to give this car the attention it needs. I ran a local ad and specified that any prospective buyer would have to convince me that they were both sincere and capable of seeing this project through to completion. There was certainly no shortage of buyers and just lookers but not a one that could convince me for a moment that they had any intentions other than patching it up and rolling it over for a quick buck, especially the dealers. I don't know why I did not think of the Galaxie Club as I was a previous member. I guess the memory is going too. I am located in Phoenix, Arizona and would certainly recommend that you come by and take a look at the car. I am not setting a price on the car. Have your headlights been flickering and going out? If you have replaced the antique sealed beams with Halogen headlights you are causing the headlight switch to overheat which in turn causes the lights to go dim, flicker or just plain go out! On 1959-1974 Galaxies, the power to the headlights goes through the headlight switch. If you have decided to put halogen sealed beams or better yet, European E-2 code Halogen pods in your Galaxie, YOU NEED a relay assembly so that you are no longer running the power through the switch but instead directly to your battery. This makes the headlights 25% brighter and whiter. Thank you to everyone who responded to my ad for the FE-to-AOD adapter. I received a few dozen inquiries and it is sure that there is a market for this item. One of the key obstacles has been to design something that can be installed by the average garage mechanic. Because of the single piece case design on the AOD all of our ideas so far require extensive machine work and so don't meet the goals I had for the product. In addition, work pressures are severely limiting the amount of time I can spend on this item so I will be shelving the idea for now. Bill Parks is looking for any information regarding his stolen STOLEN 1971 Ford 429 CJ Police Interceptor pkg. car, and should have the original, all numbers matching, FoMoCo issued VIN which is; 1N53P137808, and is located in whole or in part on the rear of the driverâ€™s side 429 CJ motor head (in whole or in part) and on the front engine plate, on the left front inner wheel well, obviously on the driver's side dashboard, on the steering column, and on both, with metal tags, on the very special C-6 transmission (all 1971 P.I. cars came standard equipped from the Ford Factory with a 5 chambered C-6, instead of a 3 chambered retail, grocery gettin' C-6. This 1971 Ford Custom 500, 429 CJ police interceptor pkg., 4 Door sedan is medium blue metallic (FoMoCo color "3D") with the color black embroidered cloth seats and, otherwise, a black interior, also mounted on the car was an ANTENNAspecialists brand stainless steel whip antenna, which was mounted on top of the left rear quarter panel.
