Bob Shafto's
1966 Galaxie 500 convertible
Falmouth, Maine

This car was purchased by my father on 11 Sep 1967 in Belmar, NJ. He was looking for a '68 convertible, couldn't find one, but did find this car at Geiger Ford. It was a two-year old leftover that hadn't sold. Demand for convertibles was in decline, both for concerns about safety and the growing popularity of A/C. My father died 8 months later and my mother didn't put many miles on it. (It now has 114K.) I've owned it since 1999. It's all original and about a "20 footer." The 390 mother still runs well.
