Ed Cook's
1965 Galaxie 500
Chicago Heights, Illinois

Bought this after a 2 year search for the right Ford. I looked at several Falcons, a couple of Rancheros, Falcon and Fairlane, and a few late '60s Ford pickups before finding this really clean Galaxie on Facebook Marketplace.

When I saw it I knew this was the car I was going to pursue. It is a 352 car with a '69 390 in it. It has a fiberglass teardrop scoop on the steel hood. The seller was a woman whose father left the car to her. She and her husband had very little information about the car, other than it had been restored about 15 years ago. I could tell by the paint that the work was done well as all the chrome had been removed before it was painted.

It is an old car and needs some work, especially the interior. The old 14" American Racing Outlaw wheels were replaced with 17x7 American Racing Salt Flat wheels in front with 225/55/17s and 17x8 Salt Flats out back with 235/55/17s.

Another change was the exhaust tips, from round to oval. Since these pictures were taken, the hood has been adjusted an the antenna has been replaced. Waiting on material and an opening at my local upholstery shop for custom upholstery in powder blue with deep turquoise accents. Then the dash will be removed and painted to match the accent. New carpet will be added as well.
