Michael Mangino's
1962 Galaxie
Virginia Beach, Virginia

Hi, my name is Michael. I grew up around Galaxies and other classic Fords my dad had throughout my childhood life. My fondest memories are with the 428 powered '66 Galaxie 500 that was with our family for many years until my dad had to sell it. I have had the privilege to drive many fun classic Fords such as a '69 Torino Cobra, '66 390 4v Fairlane 500, and even an all numbers matching '62 Galaxie XL 500 406 tri-power. That tri-power was an absolute riot to drive! I personally own a 1962 Galaxie base model that I bought from a gentleman near Binghampton, NY in Fall 2022. It is a work in progress that I never intended to dive into, but I just fell in love with the car, despite being more than I bargained for. It was originally a 223 in-line six, three on the tree car. If the previous owner is correct, I am owner number 4. Before I bought it, it had been converted to a 429, C6, 9 inch rear combo. Since buying the car, I have had disk brakes installed up front and have had the brake system completely overhauled. Still much to do, nonetheless. My other projects are a 1985 Mustang GT 5 speed, that is about 90% restored, and a supercharged 1998 Mustang GT. I daily drive a stock-ish 2014 Focus ST. (Excellent post. I hope more members take note of this and start posting more! ~Mark)
