Mark & Kathy Reynolds'
1964 Galaxie 500-XL

Though the heading says Mark & Kathy's, it is more symbolic than true, as Kathy prefers not to drive this car due to the time spent restoring it. Starting it's life as a ugly brown duckling, purchased for $1200, rust free from the Pullman Washington area, it has undergone extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration. It has a 390 bored .030 over with a mild cam, Cast Iron 406 headers, and a Edelbrock 4V 750 CFM carburetor. The brown color has been swapped for a 1964 color called Rangoon Red, the wheels are Keystone Classic strapped to Goodyear Eagle radials, the transmission was built by B&M racing and sits in front of a 9" Ford rear end. There is extensive powder coating used throughout the car in the engine compartment on the suspension and in the interior. The later of which has been redone in oxblood red carpet, black headliner, black padded dash and door panels with powdercoated console, seatbacks and window trim. The seat covers are patterned after the originals but utilize cloth instead of vinyl. The speedometer goes to 120 MPH and it has been pegged at least twice since completion. Here you can see me standing by the door!
