1960 Fords were totally redesigned from the ground up. They shared nothing with the previous models except engines and drivelines. While 1960 styling was considered controversial by many, it remains one of the smoothest designs to ever come from the Dearborn drawing boards. The Galaxie and Galaxie Special Series were the top trim level for 1960 and included chrome A pillar moldings, chrome window moldings, horizontal chrome strip on the side of the body, ribbed aluminum stone shields behind the rear wheels, Galaxie script on the front fenders and trunk lid and the Ford crest on the hood. The Galaxie Special Series included the Starliner and Sunliner with all the high level trim except that the Galaxie script on the trunk lid was replaced with either the Sunliner or Starliner script. Where did they all go?
